Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Iron Ispa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paavali Pietari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pietari has chosen The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iron Ispa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paavali Pietari!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pietari ducks under a wild hook from Ispa.

Pietari forces Ispa back against the cage and clinches.

Ispa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ispa takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ispa throws a lazy head kick
and Pietari counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ispa is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ispa throws a head kick that misses.
Pietari lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ispa backs up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ispa misses with a straight right.
Ispa throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ispa misses with an uppercut.

Pietari lands a big head kick that sends Ispa tumbling to the mat! Pietari takes a step backwards and waves Ispa back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Ispa is rocked!
Pietari fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Pietari drops Ispa with a beautiful combination! Ispa stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pietari is looking for the KO!
Oh Ispa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pietari rushes Ispa and presses him up against the cage.
Ispa seems to have got his legs back now.
Pietari lands a nice elbow.

Ispa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A frustrated look appears on Ispa's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ispa has had enough of the clinch but Pietari keeps him there for the moment.
Ispa is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Pietari's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Pietari misses with a knee strike.

Pietari pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ispa shoots in for a double leg but Pietari sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ispa steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pietari. That one must have hurt.

Pietari lands a left and a right that send Ispa crashing to the mat, dazed. Pietari thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ispa moves forwards but Pietari connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Pietari cracks Ispa with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ispa looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Pietari finish him?

Pietari rushes Ispa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pietari with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Pietari comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Ispa throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Pietari manages to pull guard.
Ispa stopping the sweep attempt from Pietari.
Pietari pulls Ispa in close to prevent any damage.

Pietari trying to keep a closed guard but Ispa is proving a slippery customer.

Pietari looking for a guillotine here but Ispa defends easily.

Pietari has his foot on Ispa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ispa works his way back into a safe position though.

Pietari has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ispa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ispa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pietari swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ispa tries to stand but Pietari is controlling from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ispa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
No joy there for Pietari, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pietari clinches up with Ispa and pushes him back against the cage.
Ispa wants to break the clinch but can't.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Nice elbow from Pietari.
Ispa takes a knee right on the jaw!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Pietari is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ispa throws a head kick but Pietari moves out of range.

Pietari lands with a kick to the temple. Ispa shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Still in the clinch, Pietari scores with a nice short uppercut.
Pietari unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ispa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Ispa is not content to let Pietari control the position.
Pietari misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pietari stands up.
Pietari lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ispa backs up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Paavali Pietari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Paavali Pietari seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Pietari has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ispa is trying to keep an underhook but Pietari manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Pietari wants to work for an arm triangle but Ispa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pietari tries to stand and escape but Ispa is controlling the position.

Pietari is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pietari is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Ispa manages to get to full guard.

Ispa is wriggling around but Pietari manages to pass to half guard.
Paavali Pietari is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Still in half guard, Pietari seems content to control.

Paavali Pietari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pietari has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
