Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Davis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rancid-Last one to Die. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andre Galvao!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Davis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Nate Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Davis lands.
Davis stuffs the takedown.
Galvao closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
A punch combination from Davis misses.
Davis throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Galvao shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nate Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Galvao.
Galvao tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Davis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davis lands in his opponent's guard.
Davis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Galvao's guard.

Davis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Galvao is just riding it out for now. Davis eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Davis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Galvao sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

and Galvao counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Galvao connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Davis to escape the position.

Davis manages to reverse the position and now he's in Galvao's guard. Nice work there by Davis.

Galvao has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Galvao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Galvao shrugs it off.
Galvao is desperately trying to improve his position but Davis has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Galvao tries to reverse the position but Davis maintains control.
Galvao is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Galvao wants to control but Davis is having none of it.
Davis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Davis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Galvao works his way to full guard. Good work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Galvao is keeping the position.

Galvao has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

Andre Galvao showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Galvao fails with the takedown
and Davis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Davis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Davis works over Galvao's head and body with a nice combination.

Galvao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Davis is looking for a sweep.
Galvao lands a few punches from side control.
Davis is not content to let Galvao control the position.
Galvao cracks Davis with a big right hand but Davis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Galvao takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Davis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Nate Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Galvao throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Galvao seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Davis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Davis feints and as Galvao raises his hands in defense, Davis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Davis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Galvao dives on top into guard.

Galvao got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Galvao has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.

Galvao thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Davis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Davis.

I would just about give that final round to Andre Galvao.
I think Galvao has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
