PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juzz Dunz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Borre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juzz Dunz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Borre!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dunz misses with an uppercut.
Borre dives in and grabs Dunz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dunz pushes down on Borre's head and hops out.
Nice cross by Dunz.
Dunz cracks Borre with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dunz misses the shot to the body.
Borre avoids the body shot from Dunz.
Dunz lands a jab to Borre's midsection.
Dunz connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Borre is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dunz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Juzz Dunz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Borre.
Borre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dunz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Borre wants to clinch up but Dunz keeps it at a distance.

Dunz lands with an uppercut that bounces Borre off the cage and back into rage.
Borre shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dunz defends it nicely.
Good exchange - Dunz coming out on top.
Dunz lands with a good body shot.
Dunz works Borre's body with a nice hook.
John Borre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Borre throws a right and a left that Dunz avoids nicely.
Dunz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Borre doesn't seem bothered though.

Borre feints and as Dunz raises his hands in defense, Borre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Borre postures up.
Borre prevents Dunz from getting back to his feet.
Dunz keeping moving, preventing Borre from controlling successfully.
Borre throws a big right hand that misses.
Dunz is looking to stand up but Borre isn't so interested in that idea.
Borre trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Borre wants to control from the top but Dunz keeps moving.
Dunz is trying to keep Borre in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Borre doesn't manage to clinch there - Dunz circles away.
Dunz slips a jab and a cross from Borre.
A jab from Dunz does it's job there.
Borre takes a shot right to the bread basket.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dunz stuffs the takedown.
Borre with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dunz to score with a decent uppercut.
Dunz lands with a shot to the body.
Borre avoids a punch combination nicely.
Borre tries to clinch up but Dunz circles away and keeps his distance.
Dunz's corner calls for a 1-2. Dunz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Borre shoots in for a takedown but Dunz shows good takedown defense.
Nice shot lands for Dunz.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juzz Dunz dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dunz fails to land with a series of punches.

Borre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dunz is looking to improve his position but Borre isn't that keen on the idea.
Borre tries to control but Dunz wriggling away.
Borre throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dunz because Borre loaded up on that one.
Borre throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Dunz tries to hold on but Borre pushes him away.
Borre controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunz is trying to stand.

Borre looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Borre controlling the pace for now.
Borre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dunz is looking to escape.
Dunz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Borre looking to control and managing it successfully.
Borre looking to control but Dunz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Borre content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Borre sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Dunz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Borre jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dunz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dunz and Borre has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Borre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Dunz attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Dunz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Borre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Borre stands up from Dunz's guard - Borre perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dunz looks to score with a jab to the body but Borre is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dunz's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dunz duly obliges.

Borre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dunz to the mat! Dunz manages to get full guard.
Borre throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dunz wants to get back to his feet but Borre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Borre seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Borre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Borre looking to sit in guard and control but Dunz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dunz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Borre on the ground.
Dunz wants to stand but Borre is controlling his posture from full guard.
Borre has control of Dunz's left arm, preventing Dunz from doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Borre is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dunz defends well.
Borre controlling the position.
Borre is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Borre.

Borre scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Borre throws a strike aimed at the side of Dunz's head but Dunz avoids it well.
Borre is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dunz is looking to reverse the position.
Dunz is trying to control Borre's posture but Borre avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Borre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Borre has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
