The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buakaw tries to clinch but Tanks moves out of range.

Tanks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buakaw swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Tanks holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tanks is looking to control Buakaw's arms but Buakaw gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tanks has his back to the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tanks pulls Buakaw into guard.
Tanks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buakaw is one step ahead there.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Tanks holds on and takes a little breather.
Tanks trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tanks gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Tanks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Buakaw's head.

Tanks controlling the pace.
Tanks passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Buakaw!
Tanks unloads with some shots from mount but Buakaw bucks and avoids them well.

Tanks has control of Buakaw's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Buakaw regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tanks sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tanks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buakaw as he avoids it easily.

and Tanks counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tanks.
Tanks tries to free his leg and advance position but Buakaw is retaining full guard.
Tanks works over Buakaw with some ground and pound from guard.
Buakaw not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Buakaw could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tanks trying to control the position from guard on top but Buakaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tanks passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Tanks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Buakaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tanks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Buakaw keeps working.

Tanks is working to tighten is grip on Buakaw's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Buakaw has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tanks is really squeezing tight and eventually Buakaw passes out! Tanks breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
