PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Average (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I shot the Sheriff. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Average throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hardy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hardy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Average is able to avoid easily.

Average changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hardy tries to avoid it but Average manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hardy to the ground. Hardy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Average shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hardy as he jumps to the side.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Average. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hardy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Average sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Well Hardy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
