The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva scoring well with a low kick there.
Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Samambaia. Samambaia circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Samambaia feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Samambaia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Samambaia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Samambaia has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Samambaia works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Samambaia winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
