Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Sendoh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeider Pires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sendoh comes to the cage accompanied by Blood Sport. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Sendoh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zeider Pires!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sendoh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pires napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Pires's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sendoh tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Sendoh lands a decent elbow from side control.
Pires is trying to get back to half guard.

Sendoh decides to stand back up.

Sendoh darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sendoh seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Pires tries to roll over but Sendoh keeps him under control.

Sendoh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pires with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sendoh throws a nice head kick!
Sendoh fails with a takedown attempt.

Sendoh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pires was covering up waiting for the punch and Sendoh finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sendoh is breathing heavily.
Pires tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pires bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sendoh's guard.
Pires wants to pass the guard but Sendoh is keeping the position.
Sendoh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pires is one step ahead there.
Pires lands a couple of elbows.

Sendoh has his foot on Pires's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pires works his way back into a safe position though.

Pires shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sendoh's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zeider Pires showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Sendoh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sendoh tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sendoh is trying to trip Pires. He has hold of a leg but Pires is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sendoh persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sendoh will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Pires stands and throws Sendoh's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Takeshi Sendoh.
Well Sendoh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
