The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone lands with an overhand left.
Stone pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peters thows a body shot but no joy.

Stone wants to sweep here but Peters controlling him for the moment.

Peters drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stone dives on top into guard.

Peters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stone not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Peters postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peters, into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Peters is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Stone gets his way!
Stone is trying to stick to Peters's back but Peters is turning into Stone. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Stone's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Peters.

Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peters shoots in looking for a takedown. Stone tries to sprawl out of it but Peters keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Peters shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Stone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Peters misses with a hook. Stone ducked under it nicely.
Peters avoids the head kick by Stone.

and Stone counters with a left to the body.

Stone throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Peters stumbling backwards into the cage! Peters bounces back off the cage towards Stone, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Stone lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Stone celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Alexander Stone! Alexander Stone retains his light heavyweight title!
