The crowd seem to be enjoying kevler's choice of entrance music: have a nice day. Igor Borinski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kevler has a takedown stuffed.
kevler shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Borinski sprawls well. Borinski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. kevler gets slowly back to his feet.
Borinski gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows kevler to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Let's hope that kevler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Borinski wants to control but kevler passes easily into half guard.
kevler is taking a breather. Borinski says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

kevler tries for a takedown but Borinski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Igor Borinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of lamont kevler.

kevler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Borinski avoids it really well and circles away.

Borinski wants to control but kevler is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Borinski tries to roll over but kevler keeps him under control.

kevler winds up and cracks Borinski with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Borinski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. kevler is working away from the top position though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Borinski counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for kevler!
kevler is wriggling around trying to escape.
Borinski connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
kevler tries to hold on but Borinski postures up.
kevler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Borinski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Borinski goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now kevler is on top in guard.
Borinski looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but kevler puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

kevler is controlling the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by lamont kevler.
Excellent takedown into side control there by kevler.
Borinski is pushing kevler's head away, looking to escape. kevler manages to hold on to the position though.
kevler passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Borinski!

Borinski could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

kevler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Borinski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
kevler controlling the pace for now.
Borinski wants to hold on but kevler pushes him away.

kevler tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
kevler's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Borinski can't escape the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

lamont kevler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Borinski gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

kevler gets the takedown into side control.
kevler is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Borinski looks calm but he's in trouble here. kevler gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Borinski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! kevler lets go of the hold and Borinski can pop his arm back in it's socket.
