Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Perqelez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perqelez comes to the cage accompanied by cool caribbean beats. Jesus Perqelez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Perqelez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perqelez feints and as Shamrock raises his hands in defense, Perqelez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shamrock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Perqelez manages to get himself to full guard.

Perqelez working for a triangle but Shamrock defends it easily.

Perqelez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Shamrock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perqelez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shamrock has managed to get both his arms back between Perqelez's legs - danger averted.
Perqelez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Perqelez is looking for a triangle but Shamrock pushes his legs off easily.
Perqelez keeping moving, preventing Shamrock from controlling successfully.
Perqelez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shamrock thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Shamrock tries to free his leg and advance position but Perqelez is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shamrock drops back looking for a leg! Perqelez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Perqelez manages to kick Shamrock off! Shamrock jumps back into Perqelez's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Perqelez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shamrock throws out the jab.
Shamrock throws a right hand that Perqelez ducks under and follows up with a left that Perqelez also avoids with ease.
Shamrock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perqelez circles away quickly and effectively.
Frank Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perqelez wants to clinch up but Shamrock keeps it at a distance.
Perqelez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Perqelez gets a takedown into half guard.
Shamrock wants to get back to his feet.
Perqelez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Perqelez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shamrock looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Shamrock wants to get back to full guard but Perqelez has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shamrock slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Shamrock looks gassed!
Perqelez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shamrock keeps working.

Perqelez is trying to work for a kimura but Shamrock is defending well.

Shamrock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Perqelez pulls his head out easily.
Perqelez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shamrock moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Perqelez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shamrock is looking to regain half guard here but Perqelez keeps moving and retains side control.
Shamrock is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Perqelez in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Shamrock is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jesus Perqelez!
