And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luther Pope!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope jabs Quid right on the nose. Quid blinks but takes it well.
Pope thows a body shot but no joy.
Pope dodges the punch combination from Quid.
Pope scores with a hook to the body. Quid takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Quid throws a one two combo.
Pope looks to score with a jab to the body but Quid is just out of range.
Pope throws an overhand right that lands on Quid's shoulder, as Quid tries to avoid the shot.
Nice defenses there by Pope.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pope, as that shot connected.
Quid feints and then cracks Pope's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pope down.
Pope thows a leg kick but Quid checks it
and Quid counters with a stiff right hand.
Pope throws a shot from downtown. Quid moves away and avoids it.
Pope throws a predictable looking body shot

and Quid counters by clinching up.
Quid doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A right handed body shot lands from Quid.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quid lands a right hand.
Pope lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Quid.
Pope blocking some punches.
Pope scores with a hook to the body.

Quid working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Pope's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Quid lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Quid misses with a short punch on the inside.

A nice right hand lands inside from Quid.
Quid's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Quid pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pope tries to move into range but Quid moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Quid throws a sloppy body shot
and Pope cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pope throws an overhand right that lands on Quid's shoulder, as Quid tries to avoid the shot.
Quid wants to clinch up but Pope keeps it at a distance.
Quid dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pope misses with a two punch combination.
Pope looks gassed!
Pope throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quid sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Quid takes a jab right on the kisser.
A slow jab from Pope misses its intended target.
Pope misses with a double jab
and Quid counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pope thinking.
Pope keeps the fight on the outside.
Pope tries to move into range but Quid moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pope looks to land a left hand but Quid moved out of range nicely.
A slow jab from Pope misses its intended target.
Quid ducks under a wild hook from Pope.
Quid lands a nice shot to the body.
Quid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Quid tries to clinch but Pope is having none of it.
Pope throws a right hand that Quid ducks under and follows up with a left that Quid also avoids with ease.
Pope swings away with a body shot that misses
and Quid counters with a series of strikes. Pope will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quid connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Pope is rocked!
Quid feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Pope crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
