Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shizuka Uesugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikko Rourke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rourke comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rolling Stones - Paint it black kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uesugi swats away the attempt to clinch by Rourke.
Uesugi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Uesugi looks for a takedown but Rourke sprawls well.
Uesugi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Uesugi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rourke manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Uesugi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Uesugi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rourke tries to buck Uesugi off but Uesugi is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rourke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Uesugi keeps the fight on the outside.
Rourke tries to clinch but Uesugi moves out of range.
Rourke looks to land a left hand but Uesugi moved out of range nicely.
Mikko Rourke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rourke looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Uesugi!

Rourke goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Uesugi is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uesugi passes Rourke's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Uesugi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rourke doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Uesugi.

Rourke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Uesugi is one step ahead there.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rourke can't keep his opponent in guard - Uesugi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Uesugi is trying to control. Rourke wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mikko Rourke has got the better of the ground game so far.
Uesugi wants to advance to full mount but Rourke doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Uesugi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rourke dives on top into guard.

Uesugi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rourke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rourke wants to control from the top but Uesugi keeps moving.
Rourke thows a big elbow that misses.

Rourke content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Uesugi has locked up a guillotine! Uesugi's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Rourke is holding on here and Uesugi must be using up a lot of energy. Rourke has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Uesugi gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
