PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oranjinho Pires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitry Slova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pires might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Runes to My Memory - Amon Amarth. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slova decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Slova throws a head kick that misses.

Pires feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Slova wants to sweep here but Pires controlling him for the moment.

Pires drops back, looking for a kneebar! Slova looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Slova looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Slova!

Slova fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Slova is working to tighten is grip on Pires's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pires has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Slova is really squeezing tight and eventually Pires passes out! Slova breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
