Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul The Ribber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enrique Cimientos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Ribber comes to the cage accompanied by I made it. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul The Ribber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Enrique Cimientos!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Ribber circles away from the clinch attempt.

The Ribber scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The Ribber is nestled in close to Cimientos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Cimientos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The Ribber is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cimientos tries to get to full guard but The Ribber has control of the leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cimientos tries to roll over but The Ribber keeps him under control.

Cimientos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but The Ribber has him pressed against the cage.
Cimientos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Paul The Ribber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Enrique Cimientos.

The Ribber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The Ribber shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Cimientos is trying to stand.

The Ribber is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cimientos is looking for a sweep. The Ribber is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The Ribber is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The Ribber takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The Ribber seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cimientos for as long as he can get away with.
The Ribber is landing with some decent strikes but Cimientos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The Ribber connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The Ribber pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The Ribber is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cimientos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cimientos shrugs it off.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



The Ribber shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Ribber showed some decent athleticism there.

The Ribber decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cimientos throws a leg kick that is checked

and The Ribber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cimientos won't be happy with that.

so The Ribber counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cimientos is breathing heavily.

The Ribber stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The Ribber drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The Ribber slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Cimientos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cimientos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Ribber defends it easily.

The Ribber drops back looking for a leg! Cimientos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cimientos manages to kick The Ribber off! The Ribber jumps back into Cimientos's guard.

The Ribber controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The Ribber with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The Ribber stands and steps away. Cimientos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The Ribber lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Cimientos throws a head kick that misses.

The Ribber scores with a kick to the body.
Cimientos on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

The Ribber shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cimientos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A lull in the action here as The Ribber stalls from top position.

The Ribber thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cimientos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The Ribber seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The Ribber looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cimientos!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cimientos is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's time! The Ribber's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



The Ribber shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than The Ribber was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A bit of a pause in the action here. The Ribber controlling the positon.

Cimientos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The Ribber is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
The Ribber is riding his opponent, not letting Cimientos buck him off.
The Ribber is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Cimientos up.
The Ribber connects with a big shot to the side of Cimientos's head.
Cimientos wants to escape the position.
The Ribber is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cimientos can do to turn this around?
The Ribber scores with punches to the body.

The Ribber has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cimientos has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The Ribber has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The Ribber has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Cimientos is in real trouble here. The Ribber gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Cimientos is tapping out! The Ribber wins by rear naked choke!
