The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez shoots in but Welch avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Welch lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hernandez backs up against the cage.
Hernandez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Welch checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Horrible takedown by Hernandez or perhaps it was just good defense by Welch which made him look bad.
Welch scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hernandez needs to keep his hands up - Welch had a free shot at his head there.
Left hook, right uppercut from Welch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hernandez slips a jab and a cross from Welch.
Welch punishes Hernandez's body with a nice straight punch.
Welch throws a combination. Hernandez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Hernandez is rocked!
Hernandez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hernandez is still on wobbly legs! Can Welch finish him?
Marvin Welch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Hernandez.
Hernandez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Welch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hernandez somewhat.
Welch lands with a right and another and another! Hernandez is in big trouble! Welch lands again and this time it's lights out for Hernandez! A quality knockout there for Welch.
