The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crockett stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Crockett wants it to stay on the feet.

Maya shoots in for a double leg but Crockett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Crockett decides to stand up, so the ref orders Maya to his feet.
Maya shoots in for a takedown but Crockett shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Crockett fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maya shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Crockett pinned against the cage. Crockett gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Crockett tries to clinch up but Maya circles away and keeps his distance.

Crockett lands a big head kick that sends Maya tumbling to the mat! Crockett takes a step backwards and waves Maya back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Maya dives in and grabs Crockett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Crockett pushes down on Maya's head and hops out.

Crockett swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Maya is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
