The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portugal takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hawk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Portugal's head backwards.
Portugal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Hawk.
Hawk just misses with a punch to the body.
Portugal misses with a shot to the body
and Hawk makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hawk lands with a good body shot.
Portugal changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice uppercut lands for Hawk. That snapped Portugal's head back.

Hawk is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Portugal had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hawk cracks Portugal with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Portugal has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hawk finds it's way round the side to connect with Portugal's head.
Hawk looks to land a combination. Portugal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Hawk throws a left and a right that both miss
and Portugal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hawk cracks Portugal with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lincoln Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Portugal stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A jab from Hawk does it's job there.
Oh Portugal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Portugal has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hawk ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Portugal seems to have got his legs back now.

Hawk lands a left and a right that send Portugal crashing to the mat, dazed. Hawk thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hawk lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hawk connects with a body shot.
Hawk lunges at Portugal with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Portugal's hand.
Portugal doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hawk lands a glancing blow to the side of Portugal's head.

Hawk feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Portugal sprawling to the canvas! Portugal rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hawk finish him?!
Hawk drops Portugal with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Portugal! Hawk dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
