Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Otool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Otool will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Dempsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Otool!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otool fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dempsey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Otool throws a series of punches but Dempsey moves out of range.

Dempsey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Dempsey seems content to control.
Dempsey throwing shots but Otool is blocking nicely.
Dempsey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Dempsey is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dempsey thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Otool to regain full guard.

Otool avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dempsey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dempsey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dempsey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dempsey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dempsey trying to control the position from guard on top but Otool is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dempsey scoring with punches to the head and body.
Dempsey loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dempsey's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dempsey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dempsey postures up in Otool's guard and throws a big left but Otool blocks it.

Dempsey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Otool works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Otool misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dempsey paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Otool connects with the punch.


It looks like Mark Dempsey has been cut.

and Dempsey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dempsey is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dempsey missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dempsey with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dempsey trying to control the position from guard on top but Otool is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Otool tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dempsey missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dempsey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Otool looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dempsey is one step ahead there.
Dempsey missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dempsey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Otool tries to avoid it but Dempsey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Otool to the ground. Otool escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dempsey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Otool but Otool pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Dempsey will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mark Dempsey's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Otool throws a nice looking combination but Dempsey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Otool drops Dempsey with a beautiful combination! Dempsey stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Otool is looking for the KO!


Dempsey is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Otool misses with a double jab

and Dempsey counters by moving into the clinch.
Oh Dempsey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Otool tries to circle away but Dempsey has him pinned against the cage.
Dempsey seems to have got his legs back now.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dempsey takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Otool is looking to break free of the clinch but Dempsey has double underhooks.
Otool looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A short left from Dempsey.
Otool tries to break free but Dempsey pushes him back against the cage.
Dempsey creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dempsey tries for a takedown but Otool manages to get underhooks.
Otool has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dempsey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Otool pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Otool, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Otool misses with a head kick.
King Otool seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A head kick by Otool - that's a beauty! Dempsey is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Otool can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). King Otool!
