PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Atama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Karpov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Guy Atama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Karpov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Atama moves into the clinch.
Karpov tries to break the clinch but Atama is controlling the position.

Atama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Atama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Karpov as he jumps to the side.
Karpov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Atama tries a head kick but it misses.
Karpov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A big head kick from Atama and Karpov is sent sprawling to the canvas!


It looks like Mikhail Karpov has been cut.
Atama trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
