Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Trepanier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Laurent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trepanier comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme Shelter-Rolling Stones. Laurent has chosen Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music. Kyle Trepanier had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurent lands a slapping body shot.
Trepanier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laurent but Laurent pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Laurent fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trepanier, pushing him back against the cage.
Trepanier can't get the takedown.
Trepanier wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Trepanier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Laurent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Laurent works the jab nicely.
Trepanier fails to land the takedown.
Laurent lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Kyle Trepanier has been cut.
Laurent moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Trepanier throws a right and a left that both miss.
Trepanier tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Laurent counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Trepanier closes the distance but Laurent moves to the side
and Laurent makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Laurent scores with a nice strike.
Laurent moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kyle Trepanier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trepanier is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laurent fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fighters circle momentarily. Laurent darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Trepanier misses with a takedown attempt - Laurent sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Trepanier takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Laurent cracks a nice hook into Trepanier's ribs.
Oh Trepanier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Laurent is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Trepanier had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Laurent throws out a powerful jab.
Donk. Laurent catches Trepanier right on the button with a cross.
Laurent drops Trepanier with a naaaaasty hook - Trepanier is in real trouble here! Laurent dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
