Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Slipnot - Before I Forget. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy tries a head kick but it misses.
McCarthy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McCarthy avoids it really well and circles away.
McCarthy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones tries to clinch but McCarthy moves out of range.

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but McCarthy has wrist control.
Jones wants to stand but McCarthy is controlling his posture from full guard.
McCarthy wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCarthy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. McCarthy does a little dance to reset his feet.

McCarthy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCarthy manages to avoid it.

and McCarthy counters with a right hand that sends Jones tumbling to the canvas! Can McCarthy finish him? He dives into Jones's guard looking to do just that!

It looks like Dante Jones has been cut.

McCarthy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jones is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones throws a body kick that misses.
McCarthy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCarthy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McCarthy's half guard.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but McCarthy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

McCarthy pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jones is out of range and McCarthy settles back down.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but McCarthy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dante Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown.
Dante Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCarthy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCarthy wants it to stay on the feet.
A head kick by McCarthy - that's a beauty! Jones is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even McCarthy can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
