The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yourass uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vart has time to react.
Yourass throws a body punch but Vart moves out of range.
A punch combination from Yourass misses.
Yourass moves into range and connects with a jab.
Yourass throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vart lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Gena Yourass has been cut.
Vart swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vart takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yourass misses with a wild body shot.
Vart tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vart bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vart throws a lazy right hand but Yourass sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yourass lands a jab to the nose.
Vart is looking to score with low kicks.
Vart finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Vart drops Yourass with a beautiful combination! Yourass stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Vart is looking for the KO!

Yourass throws out a loose jab but Vart uses good head movement to avoid it.

Yourass moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Vart misses with a series of wild punches.
Yourass ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vart tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yourass paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yourass lands with a right hand.
Vart throws a series of punches but Yourass avoids them all with ease.
Vart takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Yourass scores with a body shot.
Yourass takes a swing at Vart's ribcage but misses.
Yourass wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vart takes a jab right on the kisser.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yourass digs a good body shot into Vart's ribs.
Vart is breathing heavily.

Yourass drops Vart with a beautiful combination! Vart stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Yourass is looking for the KO!

and Vart takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Vart ducks right into an uppercut from Yourass.
Oh Vart is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vart is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Yourass is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vart had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Yourass fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Yourass has cracked Vart with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Yourass lands another huge swinging hook and Vart tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vart, before Yourass can land any more shots!
