Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boris Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Ja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia's entrance music is Essentials Feat J2K & Dynasty - . A fine choice. Pablo Ja will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boris Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Ja!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ja paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ja is defending against the submission attempts here by Garcia.
Ja tries to get to full guard but Garcia has control of the leg.

Ja is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.

Garcia is trying to work for a kimura but Ja is defending well.
Garcia is trying to control the action in half guard but Ja is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Garcia is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ja is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Garcia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ja has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ja is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Garcia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ja doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Garcia.
Garcia stops Ja from getting back to his feet.
Ja tries to get to full guard but Garcia has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Garcia is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ja sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ja throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Boris Garcia has been cut.
Ja with a nice cross.
Ja misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ja scores with a hook to the body. Garcia takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Garcia slips a jab and a cross from Ja.
Ja misses with a wild combination.
Ja lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Garcia wants to clinch up but Ja keeps it at a distance.

Ja gets caught flat footed, as Garcia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ja swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Garcia won't allow Ja to sweep him here.

Garcia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ja wants to stand and escape but Garcia is having none of it.

Ja working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ja looks gassed!

Garcia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ja dives on top into guard.
Ja tries to free his leg and advance position but Garcia is retaining full guard.

Garcia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ja defends well.

Ja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Garcia trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garcia working for submissions but it's allowed Ja to get to half guard.

Ja stands up from half guard.
Ja swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ja throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Garcia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Garcia passes to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Garcia will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action!


Ja throws a series of strikes that have Garcia backpedaling.
Garcia is looking to clinch but Ja is avoiding it.
Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ja tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ja to the ground. Ja escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ja scores with a jab. Garcia acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Pablo Ja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Garcia there as he acknowledges the shot.
Garcia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ja is fending him off so far but Garcia persists. Nope, Ja circles away and we're back to standing.
Ja is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ja connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Boris Garcia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Garcia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boris Garcia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ja lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Garcia circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ja lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Garcia sprawling to the canvas. Ja follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Garcia hang on?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Garcia is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Garcia seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ja tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Garcia.
The fighters are battling for position here. Garcia manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garcia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ja doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ja manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ja got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ja has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.

Ja slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ja throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Garcia has his foot on Ja's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ja works his way back into a safe position though.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ja controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ja gets to his feet - Garcia follows without any prompting.
A right-left combo lands from Ja.
BOOM! Ja lands a beautiful left hook that drops Garcia. Garcia tries to recover but Ja is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Garcia lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pablo Ja!
