Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fabian Steal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kett dela Calzada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dela Calzada has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Kett dela Calzada is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fabian Steal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kett dela Calzada!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

dela Calzada gets a takedown into half guard.
Steal is trying to maintain the position but dela Calzada is very close to passing his half guard.
dela Calzada looks to land a strike but Steal avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
dela Calzada postures up.
dela Calzada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
dela Calzada is looking to work some ground and pound but Steal has wrist control.
Steal preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steal looking for a sweep. Not yet Steal, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Steal fails with the takedown

and dela Calzada counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

dela Calzada moves nicely into side control.
dela Calzada prevents Steal from escaping the position.
Steal can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steal looks to clinch

and dela Calzada counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

dela Calzada escapes and gets back to his feet.

dela Calzada shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than dela Calzada was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

dela Calzada has control of Steal's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Steal regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Steal is looking to improve his position but dela Calzada isn't that keen on the idea.
Steal tries to hold on but dela Calzada pushes him away.

dela Calzada looking to secure an arm triangle but Steal defends it well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Steal defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from dela Calzada.
You get the feeling that Steal really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Steal wants to hold on but dela Calzada pushes him away.
dela Calzada lands a big elbow.
dela Calzada sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

dela Calzada wants to finish this one by submission but Steal is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from dela Calzada.

Steal wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

dela Calzada is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Steal has managed to free his arm - good work.

Steal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. dela Calzada is working away from the top position though.

Steal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

dela Calzada stands up and beckons Steal to join him on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Steal wants to clinch up but dela Calzada keeps it at a distance.
dela Calzada has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Steal is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Steal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Steal cracks dela Calzada with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Steal misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

dela Calzada tries to lock up and control but Steal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Steal fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

dela Calzada wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Steal is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. dela Calzada can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Steal breaks from dela Calzada's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Steal thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
dela Calzada is squirming around, avoiding Steal's attempts to control the action.
Steal working the ground and pound effectively.
Steal landing strikes, looking to finish!
Steal fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Steal throwing strikes here but dela Calzada is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Steal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for dela Calzada on the ground.
Steal avoids the attempt from dela Calzada to control.
Steal working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fabian Steal dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Steal fails in his attempt to clinch.

Steal clinches up against the cage.
Steal has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. dela Calzada is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Steal drops to a knee looking for a takedown but dela Calzada gets the underhooks and prevents it.
dela Calzada tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Steal just stands there and leans against the cage.
dela Calzada fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Steal postures up in dela Calzada's guard and throws a big left but dela Calzada blocks it.
Steal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as dela Calzada works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Steal wants to control from the top but dela Calzada keeps moving.

dela Calzada pushes Steal off and gets back to his feet.
A punch combination from Steal misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steal throws a series of punches but dela Calzada moves out of range.

Steal takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Steal bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
dela Calzada dodges the punch combination from Steal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kett dela Calzada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think dela Calzada has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
