The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hut darts in and clinches Alves up against the cage.
Hut holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Alves wants a takedown but no success here.
Alves drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hut pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hut misses the shot to the body.

Hut scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alves managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hut.
Alves manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Alves is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hut defends it well.

Alves wants to stand and escape but instead Hut has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Alves keeping moving, preventing Hut from controlling successfully.
Hut knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alves on the ground.
Alves bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hut's guard.
Hut tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hut has a closed guard, preventing Alves from standing up.
Alves looks gassed!
Hut lands some strikes from the bottom.

Hut escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hut has his foot on Alves's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alves works his way back into a safe position though.
Hut wants to sweep here but Alves controlling him for the moment.

Alves is pushing down on Hut's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hut is fighting to maintain full guard but Alves has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves wants to stand but Hut has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hut tries to roll over but Alves keeps him under control.
Hut is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Alves scores with a head kick.
Alves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hut shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alves throws a head kick but Hut moves out of range.
Alves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alves throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hut.
Hut avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A combination from Hut does no damage.
Alves seems to be stalking Hut here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Hut drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
