PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Choice Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Frank!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frank's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
A punch combination from Frank misses.

Frank feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gracie is trying to keep Frank in close.
Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Frank is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie has control of Frank's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Frank regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gracie prevents Frank from getting the reversal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie lands a big elbow.
Gracie wants to control the pace but Frank is squirming around nicely.
Frank tries to buck Gracie off but he can't manage it.
Frank is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Frank tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gracie quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Gracie but it's paid off an Frank is forced to tap! Nice work by Gracie.
