Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Nugent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chop Shuey!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shuey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nugent is fending him off so far but Shuey persists. Nope, Nugent circles away and we're back to standing.
Shuey tries to close the distance and clinch but Nugent swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shuey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Shuey looking to control but instead Nugent has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Shuey is trying to control. Nugent wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Nugent manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Shuey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nugent manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shuey thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Shuey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nugent is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shuey, into his guard.

Nugent gets to his feet - Shuey follows without any prompting.
Nugent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nugent got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shuey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nugent has managed to get both his arms back between Shuey's legs - danger averted.
Nugent stands and steps away. Shuey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nugent throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shuey was covering up waiting for the punch and Nugent finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shuey has his foot on Nugent's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nugent works his way back into a safe position though.

Nugent not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Nugent stands and throws Shuey's legs to the side, diving into side control.
