Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rush's choice of entrance music: eye of the tiger. Eli Rush will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua slips a jab and a cross from Rush.

Rua changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rush looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rua tries to score with some ground and pound. Rush controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rua here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rua in particular looking to stall.

Rua looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rush with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rua uses his free foot to push down on Rush's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rush.

Eli Rush's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
