Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pear Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akimichi Choji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Pear Bear has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pear Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Akimichi Choji!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choji shoots in for a takedown but Bear shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bear stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bear wants it to stay on the feet.
Bear goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Choji is defended easily by Bear.
Pear Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akimichi Choji.
Bear lands a two punch combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bear slaps away a takedown attempt from Choji, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Choji shoots for a takedown but Bear saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Choji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bear's waist but Bear gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Choji off to one side.

Bear gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bear works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Bear breaks from the clinch.

Choji tries to keep at a distance but Bear has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bear clinches up with Choji and pushes him back against the cage.

Akimichi Choji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bear breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Choji or perhaps it was just good defense by Bear which made him look bad.
Bear lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Choji is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bear is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Choji.

Choji fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bear sprawls well initially but Choji persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Choji shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bear as he jumps to the side.

Bear has managed to clinch.
Choji tries to score a body lock takedown but Bear shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Bear stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Choji is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bear pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Choji goes for a takedown attempt but Bear pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bear goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Choji shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Choji is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bear.
Bear is working the combinations to good effect here.
Bear keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Choji shoots for a double leg takedown but Bear sprawls well. He's pushed Choji's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bear scores with a jab to the head.
Choji tries for a takedown but Bear sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bear knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Choji on the ground.
Choji slips nicely into half guard.
Bear tries to kick Choji off but Choji keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Choji passes to side control.
Bear is pushing Choji's head away, looking to escape. Choji manages to hold on to the position though.

Choji tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Choji has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Choji is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bear is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Choji should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Choji has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Choji trying to control the position but Bear is working away.
Choji lands an elbow.
A lull in the action here.
Choji looks up at the clock and then as Bear takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Choji smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Choji is working to tighten is grip on Bear's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bear has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Choji is really squeezing tight and eventually Bear passes out! Choji breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Akimichi Choji!
