PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Koslof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bjorn Koslof!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gray Davis!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses with an uppercut. Koslof saw that one coming.
Koslof listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Davis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Koslof throws a shot from downtown. Davis moves away and avoids it.
Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Koslof takes a swing at Davis's ribcage but misses.
Koslof swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.
Koslof tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Davis was well out of range. Poor timing from Koslof.
Koslof throws a shot to the body.
Koslof lands with a cross.
Davis avoids the body shot from Koslof.
Koslof throws out a loose jab but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Davis misses with a looping left.

Davis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Koslof closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Koslof.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Koslof.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Koslof. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Koslof breaks from Davis's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Koslof postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Davis looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Davis throws a jab but it's blocked by Koslof.
Davis takes one to the side of the head.
Koslof tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it.
Davis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from Koslof does it's job there.
Davis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Koslof on the side of the head.

Koslof closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Nice body punch from Koslof - that landed with a thud.
Davis misses with a hook to the ribs.
Koslof throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Koslof lands a shot to the body.

Koslof not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bjorn Koslof.
Koslof comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Koslof lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Davis at a distance.
Davis darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Davis tries to clinch up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Koslof ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Davis moves away.
Koslof misses with a looping right.
Davis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Koslof to score with a decent uppercut.
Koslof takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Davis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Davis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bjorn Koslof seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koslof catches Davis with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Koslof throws out a powerful jab.
Koslof throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Koslof has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Koslof has clasped his hands together around Davis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Koslof has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
