The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kongo circles away.

King has closed the distance and engaged Kongo in a clinch.

Kongo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

King moves into range and clinches up with Kongo.
Kongo has King pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. King manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kongo wants a takedown but no success here.
Kongo has had enough of the clinch but King keeps him there for the moment.
King wants to stall.
A left hand lands to the body for King.
Kongo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

King cracks Kongo with a nice body shot.

King seems to have recovered his senses.

Kongo shoots in but no luck this time.
Kongo blocks the body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King misses with a wild combination.

King moves into the clinch.

King wants to break free but Kongo has control.
Kongo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. King just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kongo manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Kongo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kongo circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kongo doesn't seem phased though.

Kongo darts in and clinches King up against the cage.

Kongo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kongo keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
King wants to stand but Kongo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kongo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King's guard.
King wants to sweep but no luck.
Kongo throwing strikes but missing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kongo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kongo can do anything to dispel that myth.

King wants to get back to his feet but Kongo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kongo stands up and waves to King to follow him.
King throws a low kick but Kongo avoids it.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kongo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kongo lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. King is looking to close the distance but Kongo sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! King crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope King is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
