PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scottie Terrier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lil James Lightning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terrier comes into the arena with Down with the Sickness blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lil James Lightning was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightning fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Terrier.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Terrier.
Terrier misses with a takedown attempt - Lightning sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lightning tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Terrier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lightning but Lightning pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scottie Terrier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Terrier shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Lightning tries to reverse the position but Terrier maintains control.
Lightning wants to control but Terrier is having none of it.

Lightning is desperately trying to improve his position but Terrier has a good base and remains in mount.

Terrier has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lightning has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Terrier isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lightning stacks Terrier on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lightning!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Terrier manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Terrier is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Terrier is working hard here to advance position.
Terrier is not content to let Lightning control the position.

Terrier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lightning pulls his head out easily.

Let's hope that Lightning has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lightning can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Terrier is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Terrier manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lightning seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Terrier does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lil James Lightning.

Lightning pushes Terrier away with a front kick.
Scottie Terrier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lightning feints and then cracks Terrier's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Terrier down.

Lightning throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Terrier shoots in looking for a takedown. Lightning tries to sprawl out of it but Terrier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lightning manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Lightning.

Lightning lands a big head kick that sends Terrier tumbling to the mat! Lightning takes a step backwards and waves Terrier back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Scottie Terrier has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lightning tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lightning goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Terrier is rocked!
Lightning throws a sloppy head kick and Terrier moves out of range easily.
Oh Terrier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lightning throws a head kick but Terrier moves out of range.
Terrier takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Terrier seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Whack! Lightning lands a heavy head kick that drops Terrier. The ref tackles Lightning to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Terrier was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Lil James Lightning!
