Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Holdstock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Whitewas!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitewas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Holdstock backs up against the cage.
Holdstock tries to keep at a distance but Whitewas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Whitewas turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Holdstock is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holdstock struggling a bit here.
Whitewas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holdstock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Holdstock is looking to regain half guard here but Whitewas keeps moving and retains side control.
Holdstock wants to control but Whitewas postures up.
Holdstock tries to bench press Whitewas off him but Whitewas keeps the position.
Holdstock can't do much from the bottom here.
Whitewas working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Holdstock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Whitewas but Whitewas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitewas scores with a decent looking hook.
Whitewas takes the fight into the clinch.
Whitewas has picked Holdstock up - he's going for a ride! Whitewas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Whitewas tries to stand and escape but Holdstock is controlling the position.
Whitewas is keen to just control but Holdstock is a slippery customer.
Whitewas wants to pass the guard but Holdstock is defending well.
Whitewas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Holdstock is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Holdstock has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Whitewas. Oh but Holdstock has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Whitewas goes limp - he's gone! Holdstock jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
