PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quan Raiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Wiltsie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raiden comes into the arena with Boss Battle blaring out of the sound system. Wiltsie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mein Herz Brennt. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quan Raiden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Wiltsie!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiltsie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Raiden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wiltsie.
Good work by Wiltsie as he checks the leg kick.
Wiltsie fails with a takedown attempt.
Raiden stuns Wiltsie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Raiden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wiltsie moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wiltsie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Raiden can pounce on him.

Wiltsie shoots for a double leg takedown but Raiden sprawls well. He's pushed Wiltsie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Quan Raiden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Wiltsie.

Raiden keeps Wiltsie at a distance using the push kick.
Raiden stuns Wiltsie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Raiden looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Raiden wants to clinch up but Wiltsie keeps it at a distance.
Wiltsie misses with an uppercut.
Wiltsie with a nice cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Wiltsie dominated that round.

A punch lands to the side of Raiden 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Raiden tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wiltsie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Raiden blocks the body kick.
Wiltsie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wiltsie throws out a loose jab but Raiden uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wiltsie drops his hands momentarily and Raiden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Wiltsie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Raiden jabs Wiltsie right on the nose. Wiltsie blinks but takes it well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Robert Wiltsie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Robert Wiltsie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wiltsie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Raiden pinned against the cage. Raiden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quan Raiden.
I think Wiltsie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
