Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Sapp!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sapp moves into range and clinches up with Hughes.

Sapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hughes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Bob Sapp has been cut.
Sapp looks to land a combination but Hughes avoids it well.
Sapp misses with a few strikes there.
Hughes throws a lazy right hand but Sapp sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sapp misses with a two punch combination.
Nice uppercut there from Hughes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A combination from Hughes does no damage.
Hughes tries to clinch but Sapp moves away

and Sapp counters by moving into the clinch.

Sapp manages to break the clinch.
Marcus Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes lands a really nice looking cross but Sapp seems unphased.
Hughes connects with a single shot there.

Hughes steps into range and cracks Sapp with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Sapp flops backwards and Hughes dives into his guard looking to finish!


Sapp is rocked!
Hughes tries to free his leg and advance position but Sapp is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sapp scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sapp tries to bum rush Hughes with a series of wild strikes but Hughes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hughes misses with a hook.
Hughes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sapp looks gassed!
Hughes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sapp looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Oooh a lovely combination from Hughes sends Sapp down but not out. Hughes dives into side control looking to finish.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hughes is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sapp will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Sapp is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Sapp is trying to control Hughes's posture but Hughes avoids it.
Sapp is trying to buck Hughes off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sapp is looking for a sweep.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hughes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hughes lands a lovely overhand right.

Hughes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hughes lands with a straight right. Sapp didn't see that one coming.
Hughes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sapp can do to turn this around?

Hughes tries to clinch up but Sapp circles away and keeps his distance.
Hughes fails to land with a series of punches.
Sapp fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hughes stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sapp is breathing heavily.
A jab from Hughes finds it's way through Sapp's defenses.
Sapp is still on wobbly legs! Can Hughes finish him?


That has opened up Bob Sapp's cut even more.
Hughes steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Sapp is out on his feet! Hughes sets himself and nearly takes Sapp's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Marcus Hughes!
