Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zak Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Zak Alonso has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alonso misses with a few strikes there.
Alonso lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Alonso tries to work over Johnson's front leg with a kick but Johnson checks it.
Alonso throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.
Alonso is trying to stand up here but Johnson is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alonso keeps working.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alonso is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alonso defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alonso is just content to waste time from the top position. Johnson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Alonso wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Alonso throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.

Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
