Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sub Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sahti Waari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hero comes to the cage accompanied by Giant Squid - Panthalassa. Waari is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: SMC Hoodrats - Lähiörotat Skujaa. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sub Hero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sahti Waari!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waari connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Waari loads up on a big right hand but Hero slips the punch.

Hero shoots in and bounces Waari off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Waari has Hero pulled in close to control his posture.

Hero stands up over Waari, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Waari manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hero tries to hold on but Waari pushes him away.
Hero can't escape the position.
Waari tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hero regains half guard.
Waari is trying to control the action in half guard but Hero is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hero tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Hero wants to control but Waari is keeping busy.
Hero keeping hold of Waari's head, controlling as best he can.
Waari not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Waari thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hero's head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Waari swivels and escapes.

Hero walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Hero feints and as Waari raises his hands in defense, Hero changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hero wants to control from the top but Waari keeps moving.

Hero drops back looking for a leg! Waari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Waari manages to kick Hero off! Hero jumps back into Waari's guard.

Waari is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hero defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sub Hero will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Waari throws a right hand that Hero ducks under and follows up with a left that Hero also avoids with ease.
Hero stuns Waari with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hero avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hero moves out of range as Waari strikes.

Hero shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Waari tries to reverse the position but Hero maintains control.

Hero lands with some strikes.
Hero lands a big shot there that rocks Waari but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Waari is looking to improve his position but Hero isn't that keen on the idea.

Waari is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hero's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sub Hero dominated that second round.
That's time! Hero's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Waari stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Waari wants it to stay on the feet.
Hero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Waari throws out the jab.

Waari gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Waari can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hero controls the pace.
Waari pulls Hero in close to prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Waari won't allow Hero to sweep him here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hero wants to get back to full guard but Waari has mounted him!
Waari throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hero because Waari loaded up on that one.
Hero tries to hold on but Waari postures up.
Sub Hero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Waari swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hero is now in Waari's guard. A big mistake from Waari there, giving up the dominant position!
Sub Hero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Waari looking for a sweep. Not yet Waari, not yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sub Hero showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hero, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
