The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

tr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

tr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Adriano is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of tr, into his guard.

tr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adriano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Adriano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. tr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

tr has momentary wrist control but Adriano slips an elbow through the middle.
tr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Adriano stays in close to tr's body and controls the position.
