The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawla fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maynard throws a right hand that Hawla ducks under and follows up with a left that Hawla also avoids with ease.
Maynard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hawla moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maynard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maynard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawla circles away.

It looks like Gray Maynard has been cut.
Hawla tries to clinch but Maynard is having none of it.
Maynard throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hawla makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hawla throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maynard stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hawla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Maynard circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hawla lands a brutal head kick. Maynard looks out on his feet and Hawla throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
