Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between king kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alas Malas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alas Malas looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, king kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alas Malas!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kong thuds a left hand into Malas's body.
Malas looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
kong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
kong fails in his attempt to clinch.
kong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Malas sprawls well. Malas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. kong gets slowly back to his feet.

kong rushes Malas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Malas gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from kong.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for king kong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Malas is fighting off a takedown attempt but kong is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Malas to the mat. Malas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
kong is stalling in the full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

kong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

kong throws a big right hand that misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
kong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Malas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
kong passes Malas's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

kong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

kong is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Malas has managed to free his arm - good work.
Malas is not content to let kong control the position.
kong lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
kong is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

kong instigates a clinch.

kong jumps guard and drags Malas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

kong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Malas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and kong dives on top into guard.
kong pushes down on Malas's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Malas is breathing heavily.

kong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Malas is in trouble now - kong has advanced to mount!

Malas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from kong.

kong jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Malas manages to avoid the submission attempt.

kong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Malas has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of king kong.

kong rushes Malas and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

kong breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
kong is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Malas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

kong closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Malas is staying active underneath kong, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
kong landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Malas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
kong is looking to take a break and control but Malas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. kong connects with a nice short shot to Malas's temple.

kong works his way into side control.

kong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Malas has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

kong working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Malas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
kong is looking to take a break and control but Malas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Malas tries to buck kong off but kong is having none of it.

kong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no kong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
king kong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

kong's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well kong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
