The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tonio Ortega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ortega gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oh Carter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ortega has Carter pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Carter is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Ortega - that's hurt Carter badly! Oh, another knee lands and Carter is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Carter doesn't seem to be complaining.
