Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Vegeta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and murphy brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). murphy brown is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, murphy brown!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegeta throws a sloppy head kick and brown moves out of range easily.
Vegeta fails with an attempt to clinch.
brown is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
brown swats away the attempt to clinch by Vegeta.
brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vegeta defends it nicely.
Vegeta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from brown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vegeta doesn't succeed with the takedown

and brown counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Vegeta might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
brown won't allow Vegeta to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vegeta is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vegeta trying to control the position from guard on top but brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vegeta looking to sit in guard and control but brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
brown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

murphy brown dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

brown avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vegeta shoots and misses

and brown counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vegeta won't be happy with that.
Vegeta is trying to improve his position.
A lull in the action here as brown stalls from top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Let's hope that brown has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vegeta tries to bench press brown off him but brown keeps the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vegeta is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

murphy brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Vegeta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but brown paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vegeta tries a head kick but it misses.
Vegeta pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nice sprawl there from Vegeta as brown shoots in.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

brown tries for a takedown but Vegeta sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
John Vegeta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of murphy brown.
Vegeta closes the distance looking to clinch

so brown counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Vegeta is trying to hold brown in close to prevent damage but brown has managed to pass into half guard.
Vegeta is looking to get back to full guard here but brown has managed to pass to side control instead.

Vegeta is in all sorts of trouble here.

brown's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
