The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fairtex scoring well with a low kick there.
FXT fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fairtex motions for FXT to come forward. Fairtex throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
FXT connects with a looping right hand.
Fairtex finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
FXT misses with a body kick.
FXT fails with an attempt to clinch.
FXT scores with a jab to the body.
FXT lands a lovely overhand right.
FXT shoots in for a takedown but Fairtex shows good takedown defense.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fairtex is going oldschool here, as he tries to force FXT to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so FXT shrugs it off.

Nice straight punches there by Fairtex. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fairtex.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
FXT tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fairtex sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten FXT somewhat.

FXT chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fairtex can pounce on him.
