PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richter Alastrasz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bradley comes to the cage accompanied by Ride Of The Valkyries. The key to victory for Dan Bradley has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Bradley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richter Alastrasz!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Alastrasz or perhaps it was just good defense by Bradley which made him look bad.
Bradley lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bradley looks to score with a jab to the body but Alastrasz is just out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Alastrasz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Alastrasz moves out of range of the strikes.
Richter Alastrasz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alastrasz looks to throw the jab but Bradley is out of range.

and Bradley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alastrasz's guard now.
Bradley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Alastrasz pulls Bradley in close to prevent any damage.

Alastrasz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Alastrasz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bradley manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bradley wants to sweep here but Alastrasz controlling him for the moment.
Alastrasz postures up in Bradley's guard and throws a big left but Bradley blocks it.

Alastrasz has gone for a leg lock! Bradley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Alastrasz's guard.
Bradley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bradley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alastrasz keeping moving, preventing Bradley from controlling successfully.

Alastrasz controls Bradley momentarily but Bradley frees himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bradley slips nicely into half guard.
Alastrasz tries to roll over but Bradley keeps him under control.

Bradley is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Alastrasz still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Alastrasz has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Alastrasz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Alastrasz winds up and cracks Bradley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bradley tries to roll over but Alastrasz keeps him under control.
Bradley is trying to maintain the position but Alastrasz is very close to passing his half guard.
Alastrasz is taking a breather. Bradley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Alastrasz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bradley keeps working.
Bradley is trying to stand.
Bradley is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Alastrasz blocks Bradley's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bradley tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bradley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bradley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alastrasz.

and Bradley counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bradley.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alastrasz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bradley was well out of range. Poor timing from Alastrasz.

Alastrasz takes a swing at Bradley's ribcage but misses.

Alastrasz throws the left hand but Bradley avoids the punch easily.
Alastrasz throws a hook to the side of Bradley's head but Bradley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Richter Alastrasz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Bradley wants to free his trapped foot but Alastrasz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Alastrasz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bradley!

Alastrasz prevents Bradley from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bradley is desperately trying to improve his position but Alastrasz has a good base and remains in mount.

The referee warns Bradley that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Bradley is rocked!
Alastrasz loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bradley scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Alastrasz land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Alastrasz stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richter Alastrasz!
