PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Montolivo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Jacques Marco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Montolivo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Juan Jacques Marco!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marco is looking to clinch but Montolivo is avoiding it.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Montolivo!


It looks like Juan Jacques Marco has been cut.
Marco has a takedown stuffed.

Marco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Montolivo was covering up waiting for the punch and Marco finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Marco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montolivo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Montolivo stands up and waves to Marco to follow him.
Marco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montolivo tries to avoid it but Marco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montolivo to the ground. Montolivo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Marco tries to clinch up but Montolivo circles away and keeps his distance.
No joy there for Montolivo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Marco looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marco closes this distance looking for a takedown but Montolivo circles away.

Montolivo tries to bum rush Marco with a series of wild strikes but Marco uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
