Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauro Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomes has chosen R Kelly - World's Greatest as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Gomes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mauro Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pope throws a front kick aimed at Gomes's knee but Gomes avoids it well.
Pope feints and then cracks Gomes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gomes down.
Pope swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Pope throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Pope lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gomes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pope.
Pope shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pope has control of Gomes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gomes regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pope accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gomes keeping moving, preventing Pope from controlling successfully.
Pope postures up in Gomes's guard and throws a big left but Gomes blocks it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gomes holds on and takes a little breather.
Gomes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pope stands up over Gomes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Pope wants to control from the top but Gomes keeps moving.

Pope connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Pope throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gomes.
The cut above Mauro Gomes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Gomes has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Pope.
Gomes tries to keep at a distance but Pope has taken the fight into the clinch.

Pope looks to land a strike but Gomes avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Pope working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gomes's head.
Mauro Gomes's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Pope makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mauro Gomes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
