Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eyam Silver!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


It looks like Eyam Silver has been cut.
Silver fails with the takedown.
Davis misses with a straight left.
Davis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silver uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Davis.
Davis misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silver.

Silver tries for a kimura but Davis is defending well.
Silver prevents Davis from escaping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis sneaks back into half guard.
Davis is trying to get back to full guard.
Davis regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Silver.
Davis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silver drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silver has Davis in his guard.
Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silver is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silver missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Davis wants to improve his position but Silver is controlling well.

Silver is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Davis defends it well.

Silver looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Silver is working for a submission of some sort.

Silver is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Davis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Davis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Silver missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Davis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silver fails in his attempt to clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silver is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Phil Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eyam Silver.
Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Silver. Silver gets slowly back to his feet.
Davis looks to throw the jab but Silver is out of range.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Davis leaves Silver with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Davis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Davis stuns Silver with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Davis misses with a body shot.
Davis tries to bum rush Silver with a series of wild strikes but Silver uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silver looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Silver tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Davis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silver's hands.
Eyam Silver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silver fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Davis misses with a body shot.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Silver tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silver shoots in looking for a takedown. Davis tries to sprawl out of it but Silver keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silver shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.
Davis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Silver uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Davis.

Silver shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davis's guard.
Davis has control of Silver's left arm, preventing Silver from doing any damage.

Davis pushes Silver off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silver tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Silver throws a shot from downtown. Davis moves away and avoids it.

Davis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silver.
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis cracks Silver with an open hand slap.
Silver pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Silver wants to clinch.
Silver misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silver drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


A telegraphed right hand from Davis misses the target.
Silver tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Davis misses with a combination

and Silver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davis won't be happy with that.
Davis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Silver sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davis defending well though.
Silver thows a huge punch but Davis dodges it nicely.

Silver lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Davis manages to get to full guard.

Davis wriggles free and stands up.
Davis stuffs the takedown.
Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Silver. Silver gets slowly back to his feet.
Davis thows a body shot but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis throws a combination that misses

and Silver counters with a takedown into side control.
Davis can't do much from the bottom here.
Davis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Silver has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Silver misses with the ground and pound.

Silver is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sloppy strikes there by Silver.
Silver is chipping away with strikes.

Silver landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Davis is looking for a sweep.

Silver is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Silver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Silver goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Silver's guard! Nice work there by Davis!

Eyam Silver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Davis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
