Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Drysdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randsome Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drysdale comes to the cage accompanied by Jadakiss - The Champ Is Here. Randsome Gracie has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Drysdale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randsome Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drysdale to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Drysdale defends well.
Drysdale stays in close to Gracie's body and controls the position.
Drysdale trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.

Drysdale postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Drysdale, into his guard.

Drysdale looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gracie passes into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gracie thows a huge punch but Drysdale dodges it nicely.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drysdale has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Drysdale's legs - danger averted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gracie is pushing down on Drysdale's leg trying to pass to half guard. Drysdale is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Robert Drysdale will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Drysdale shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gracie is looking to control Drysdale's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?
Drysdale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drysdale is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Drysdale to get the leverage.

Drysdale is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Drysdale counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gracie's guard now.

Drysdale drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gracie dives on top into guard.

Drysdale is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Drysdale tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Drysdale has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Drysdale pulls his head out easily.

Drysdale is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gracie is looking for a sweep. Drysdale is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Drysdale closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Drysdale getting side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Randsome Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drysdale gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Drysdale showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Drysdale has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
