PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Al B Toakin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jessie deleon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toakin comes into the arena with Hits From the Bong blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

deleon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toakin is looking for a sweep.
Toakin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on deleon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Toakin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

No joy there for Toakin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

You can see the frustration on Toakin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

deleon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Toakin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Toakin avoids any damage from the ground and pound of deleon.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

deleon goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Toakin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in deleon's guard! Nice work there by Toakin!

deleon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Toakin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of deleon's head.

Toakin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of deleon's head.
Toakin throws a strike but deleon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Toakin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. deleon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. deleon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

deleonis looking to pass into half guard but Toakin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Toakin is in guard.
deleon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Toakin manages to get himself to full guard.

Toakin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

deleon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Al B Toakin will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

deleon jabs Toakin right on the nose. Toakin blinks but takes it well.

Toakin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but deleon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

deleon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and deleon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
deleon dodges the punch combination from Toakin.
deleon lands a body shot.
Toakin throws a head kick but deleon moves out of range.
deleon looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Toakin throws a jab but it's blocked by deleon.

and deleon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

deleon advances to mount.
The referee warns Toakin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
deleon lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Toakin can't escape the position.
jessie deleon has got the better of the ground game so far.
deleon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Toakin is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

deleon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Toakin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well deleon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
