PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stewie Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Rentz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes to the cage accompanied by I do it for you. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brandon Rentz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin misses with a straight right.
Stewie Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Griffin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rentz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griffin throws a series of punches but Rentz avoids them all with ease.

Rentz shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Griffin tries to keep at a distance but Rentz has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin is refusing to be controlled, as Rentz sits in half guard.
Rentz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Griffin throws a right hand that Rentz ducks under and follows up with a left that Rentz also avoids with ease.
Griffin tries a head kick but it misses.
Griffin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rentz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rentz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Rentz lands a big shot there that rocks Griffin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Rentz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Griffin hang on?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rentz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Rentz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Griffin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rentz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Griffin is working an open guard so Rentz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Griffin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rentz throws a right hand that Griffin ducks under and follows up with a left that Griffin also avoids with ease.
Stewie Griffin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Griffin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rentz.

and Rentz counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rentz tries to free his leg and advance position but Griffin is retaining full guard.

Brandon Rentz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Griffin is pushing Rentz's head away, looking to escape. Rentz manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rentz looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Brandon Rentz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rentz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
